Some people may think it’s a good idea and convenient solution to simply wind their headphone cables around their phone when not in use. However, this can be really damaging as it can bend or fray the connecting point of your headphone. Never do this – headphones should always be unplugged when not in use.
Speaking of unplugging, how do you unplug your headphones when you are done with them? Do you pull them out from the cable? If so, it’s time to stop. Always remove your headphones from the plug to avoid putting unnecessary strain on the cable and prolong its lifespan.
Some people are under the mistaken impression that wireless earbuds, being relatively new in the game, do not offer the same great qualities as some of the top headsets. However, that is not true and all kinds of wireless earbuds can be found in the market today. From the cheapest entry-level models to more sophisticated ones that feature properties such as noise isolation and bass boosting, you will be sure to find a pair that suits your needs and budget. You can even find ones in different colors and styles to suit your look.
If your headphones require batteries to operate, it’s always advisable to remove them if you don’t intend to be using your headphones for a prolonged period. If you don’t, the batteries can run out of power and leak, corroding your headphones. Of course, this doesn’t mean you need to remove the batteries every night if you use your headphones daily, but if you have a special pair for travel, make it a habit to remove the batteries after every trip.
